About Me

My name is Cheylene Thongkham.  I’m a former punk rocker and current IT nerd.  I was born in Germany as a military brat, but was raised mostly in the tiny college town of Davis, California.

In 2009, after a year of working for the man, I took a 5-week trip to Europe with my boyfriend to get away from it all.  I was so taken by the density of culture, languages and history in Europe that I made it my mission to one day move back to the old-world continent.

Within a year and a half I found myself on a plane, work permit in hand, barreling towards London Heathrow Airport at 500 mph.  Since then I’ve settled into a Victorian flat in West London and found an IT position in The City.  I spend most of my time in London exploring different neighborhoods, attending cultural events, and fulfilling my life-long dream of being a unabashed museum nerd.

This site is intended as a place where I share my thoughts, finds and musings about the city that I now call home.
